But I trust in you,
LORD;
I say, “You are my God.”
I say, “You are my God.”
My times are in your hands;
Psalm 31:14-15a
Thoughts~
Seven
years ago I went through the toughest time in my life when my marriage was
pulled out from under my feet. My ex was caught up in an addiction that
destroyed our relationship and our family. I would have waited forever for him
to get healthy, but, he could not and he filed for divorce without fighting for
our marriage. I went through many stages
of grief including shock, anger, devastation, sorrow, questioning, denial and
many pity parties. I share this today because chances are someone is going
through something similar or at least as gut wrenching. And I am here to tell
you that God did not ever leave me alone. My times were in His hands and He took care
of me even when I was in a state of numbness. He allowed me to grieve and joined
me at the pity parties, encouraging me to stop having them. They were boring,
negative and defeating.
What
happened along the journey of finding healing is that God taught me that He is
trustworthy and will never ever let me down.
No matter what I go through, He is there. And not only that, He has used
my pain to bring me closer to Him, stronger spiritually and more available to
helping others in the same situation. I have time to give to my ministry and
time to do absolutely anything that the Lord has in store for me. I say ‘YES’
to Him before He even asks me. I say to Him “You are my God and I trust in
You!”
Action~
What tough thing are you going through right now? Do
you truly know that He is there no matter how difficult your situation is? Give
it to Him. Every single thing. Every
pain, every sorrow, every bit of anger.
He can handle it all. He is your God and you can trust Him
completely.
Because
visuals are important to me, I have used journals over the years to record my
thoughts and prayers. Yes, handwritten journals! Every once in a while I will
read one from start to finish and am truly overwhelmed by the love that the
Lord has for me. Maybe you’d like to start something like this, whether in a
book form or on your computer.
Pray~
Thank
You, God, for your unconditional love and amazing blessings. You take broken
lives and restore them, where there were ashes, you bring renewal. You are so
amazingly trustworthy all the time.
Trusting
the Lord,
Becky
