God
decided in advance to adopt us into his own family

This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

Thoughts~
When I was in my mid-twenties, my husband and I found
out he was unable to give me children. He was crushed and while I too was sad,
I knew that adoption was a viable option. I wanted children no matter how I got
them and so we began adoption proceedings. There is an incredible amount of
paper work and red tape when you adopt; but, before we got too involved, our
medical doctor called us to tell us he had a young woman who wanted to give up
her baby for adoption.
The story is a long one that could fill a small book
but the end result was a healthy baby boy that entered our lives when he was
two days old. That boy is now nearly 35 and he has two sons of his own.
When we decided to adopt children it was because we
wanted a family, no matter how we got them. So, when I read this verse, I can
just imagine God’s complete joy of adopting each of us as His children through
our belief in His son, Jesus, as our Savior. My birth parents are Bob and Betty,
but my adopted parent is my Father in Heaven. I am loved. I am a child of God.
I am adopted.
Action~
If you ever feel alone, lonely, discouraged or abandoned,
your Father is there to comfort you and bring you His amazing peace and love.
He has adopted you forever and we are brothers and sisters: siblings of the
very best kind.
Today, simply thank Him for loving you so much that He
wanted you as His own child. Show Him your appreciation in words, songs,
praises. Spend time with Him. He’s waiting.
Pray~
God thank you for adopting me, for loving me so much
that You wanted me to be part of your family.
Trusting in Him,
