THOUGHTS ~ When I struggle
sometimes all I want to do is collapse into a heap at the feet of Jesus. I have
a few favorite verses that encourage me to lean on Him (like Isaiah 26:4 and Proverbs
3:5-6) but I also love the verses that remind me He is my Rock. Those special verses
remind me that there is such strength in the Lord and that He is solid,
unwavering, never fickle, always there. Since I live in Phoenix, I am
surrounded by massive rock formations that are unmovable (unless there was an
earthquake which we don’t experience). Those rocks symbolize what the Lord is
to me: strong, solid, unbending to fickleness, forever there for me.
I have a few other verses that are particularly special
to me and I like to write them on rocks and place them in surprise places for
people to see. If I am encouraged by
them, I know others are too! One is Hebrews 13:5 which says “I will never leave
you nor forsake you.”
And then I have my “rock” verses:

Sometimes I will run across a particular scripture and
it really speaks to me so I put it on a rock and then in my car so I can leave
it as a surprise for someone. This is a free gift from my heart to theirs, even
though I never know who finds my rocks.
ACTION ~ Day Two: Today
all you need are some rocks and a sharpie pen. On each rock, keep it simple and
write out one of the “rock” verses above, Hebrews 13:5 or you may have another
favorite verse of encouragement or even a few simple words “Trust in the Lord”.
These rocks are about giving our heart to someone who may just need the boost
of encouragement on a particularly rough day.
Like yesterday, we can place rocks in special places for
people to find. This is one of my favorite heart gifts to give and I do it all
year. The point is to place the rock where people will find them. They speak
volumes to a person who is a believer who is struggling so I often pray God will
save the rocks for people who will appreciate them.

(hint: rocks needs to be kind of clean but I keep a water bottle in my car for cleaning them so when I find a perfectly smooth one, I can take out my sharpie and write out a verse on it so it's ready to be dropped off).
