Jesus looked at them and said,
"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Matthew 19:26

Thoughts~

There are so many little quotations that offer encouraging words but none are as dynamic as when they are from the word of God. “With God all things are possible” is one of my favorites. When I reach the end of my rope and am dangling by a mere thread, He takes over in a way that only He can. I saw a quote today on Pinterest that said “When you are down to nothing, God is up to something.” While it’s not a quote from the Bible it certainly holds truth since, as believers, we KNOW God will always take care of us.

My youngest daughter used to say “He has your back!” There are discouraging and tremendously lonely times when we are walking through the barren lands of the desert and we don’t feel that He has our back at all. We may not even feel that He is up to something. And to think He will take the impossible and make it possible seems like a child’s fairy tale.  It is those times we need our Father the very most. When things are smooth sailing, we sometimes forget that it is God that brought the calm winds into our lives. I have seen serendipitous events when I really thought I could not go another step and God entered the picture in such a dynamic way that I knew it was Him. And I could breathe again.

Action~

Tell God the truth about how you are feeling (even though He already knows) because it often helps to hear your own words spoken out loud.  Sometimes hearing those cries breaks something that is clogging your heart and the tears will flow, and your heavy heart is able to release whatever is going on inside you.

Take this verse and write it on an index card, and under it, list things that seem absolutely impossible in your life. Make sure to add the date and then place it in your Bible at Matthew 19. Someday when you come across it again, you’ll be amazed at how God showed you He is indeed a God of possibilities.

 Pray~

Lord, how we forget Who You Are.  Forgive our doubts and lift us up as we wait on You to bring the possibilities that bring glory to your name.

Trusting the Lord,
Becky
