Let your eyes look directly ahead
And let your gaze be fixed straight
in front of you.
Proverbs 4:25
Thoughts ~

Oh, my goodness, I can so easily get sidetracked by sideshow distractions! I have to really purposefully keep my eyes on the Lord, looking straight ahead at Him and not the stuff around me that calls for my attention. Not nice stuff, but the type that calls me to sin, to take my eyes off Him. I am convinced that the way I can keep my eyes on the path that He has cleared for me is to stay in His word every day.  Maybe I don't have time for a full Bible study every day, but, even taking one verse like today’s and really meditating on it, asking God for clarification, makes my walk down the path stronger and more secure.

Action ~

Take the verse today and write it on a piece of paper and take it apart, examining every word. What does it say to you? Does it convict you about getting off the path by sideshow distraction? Does it encourage you that you are on target in your spiritual growth? Try memorizing the verse and allow God to use it in your life as a reminder.

Pray ~

Thank You, Lord, for the reminder to keep my eyes on the path you have set me on. Help me to remember to put blinders on when people try to call my name from the sideshows and give me strength to ignore the glitter that tries to call me aside.

Trusting in the Lord,
Becky
