Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul.
What I love about the word of God is that it applies to my own life so much of the time. As I look at this verse, I am content that God will show me the way to go. Is it this way or that way? Up or down? Go or stay? I can rest in the knowledge that no matter what, as I put my trust in Him, He will show me the way to go.
Once upon a time I made a poor decision . . . a really poor decision. Not that I haven’t made lots of them over the course of my life, but this was the granddaddy of bad decisions. I did not seek the Lord and ignored Him when He tried to get me to take a U-turn. I was so stubborn! So self-willed! It sadly has affected my life for the past 26 years. But even though my choice was not God’s will, the Lord of Lords forgives me and has used that one decision to give me countless opportunities to help other women and men. He has used it to remind me of His faithfulness and His great love for me. And he has used it as a sign to show me to always seek Him to show me the way to go. I’m happy. And I’m blessed.
Today will be a fun project. What I would like for you to do is make yourself an arrow. You can copy the one in the photo, or make up your own, draw it, paint it or do anything that works for you. It’s just a symbol so it doesn't have to be pretty or cute. You can even fold a piece of paper in half and cut one out.
On the arrow, write out today’s verse. And use this as a reminder to always ask God which way you should go. I made several and placed them everywhere! Don’t take decisions into your own hands without prayerful time with the Lord. Always ask God for clarity.
Ask the Lord everything because He is here to help us. And the Holy Spirit will show us exactly what we are meant to see.
Lord, it’s me again, thanking you for using my bad decisions to bring me to a closer walk with you. Thank You for using them to bring me to a maturity in my Christian walk and guide me to talk to You before making any more self-willed decisions. And mostly, thank you for your forgiveness.
Trusting in the Lord,
