“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
When I was in high school we had to take one year of Physical Education. I was not a happy camper about this because athletics and I don’t see eye to eye. My biggest fear came when we had a week of gymnastics. With two left feet and a mind that just wanted to be in art class, I seriously thought I would be sick when I saw THE RINGS.
I had absolutely no strength in my arms at the time and weighed around 100 pounds. I was horrified and embarrassed that I could not manage to pull even one pound of me up. I needed strength in those arms and no amount of wishing enabled me to pull myself up. My very caring coach lifted me up so I could feel how it was to support myself.
Today, I need no lifting up because my support comes straight from Jesus who has all the strength I need. His grace is the driving force in my life. He powers me up when I cannot go another step, say another word or manage another day. He is always there; ready to give me all the support I need in my weak areas. And as a result, I am able to give Him praise. He is glorified in my life because in Him, I am strong. In Him I am lifted up.
Have you ever thought about if we had no weakness, we would not lean on God?
He allows our weaknesses to prompt us to run to Him for His support, strength and security; to show us we have all we need in Him. Isn’t that an amazing concept? Think about it for a second before reading on.
If I was amazingly strong in every area of my life, I might not see the need for Jesus. Breathtaking concept, isn’t it? Our weakness turns us to Jesus.
We all have areas where we are weak: What are yours? How does Jesus support you?
Ask God to give you His strength in all of your weaknesses. He will get you through the tough times. He is ALL YOU NEED.
God I am amazed at Your power and the way You take all of my weaknesses and supply me with what I need. You are always giving me what I don’t deserve, but, loving me so much, You give it to me anyway. Your grace, after all, is all I really need.
Trusting in Him~
