O
LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed
Your splendor above the heavens!
Psalm
8:1
Thoughts~
God has many names He goes by
but I have only one: Becky Ann. He didn’t name me; my Texas born parents had
that opportunity. But He knows my name! I am not an unknown face or stranger to
the Lord who I love and serve. He not only knows the hairs on my head but the
freckles on my face!
When I was flying back from
visiting my son last week, I looked down on the ground before the clouds
swallowed up the plane. I always get this overpowering feeling of awe when I
fly because when I see the specks of cars, houses, buildings and landscape, I
know God sees it in an even larger, global view. He sees me and where I am,
what I am doing, where I am headed. He knows my likes, dislikes, passions and
joys. I am not a stranger in any way to God.
So why did I once treat Him
like a stranger, even when I had given Him my life as a teenager? Why did I
allow the world to start influencing me instead of Him? Easy answer: because I
walked away from the relationship I had with Him and into ones He did not
approve of. The conviction was fierce at first, but the more I ignored the
Lord, the more distant His name, His face, His word became. In time He was a
blurry memory of a life I had lived with joy.
But the Lord who loves us does
not allow us to go too long without a wakeup call. Mine came so quickly that I
felt as though I was jerked off my feet to my senses. God reminded me of His love for me, His plan
for my life and His forgiveness. Oh sweet, precious forgiveness, what a gift
from Him!
He knows my name and I know
His. “O LORD, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth!” The
Almighty. Abba. Savior, Redeemer, Refuge, Rock, Shepherd, Shield, and Strong Tower
are just a few of my personal favorites. I will never forsake the Lord of my life
again; He knows my name better than anyone and loves me more too.
He Knows My Name
(by Tommy Walker)
I have a maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hand
Chorus
He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And hears me when I call
I have a Father
He calls me his own
He'll never leave me
No matter where I go
Chorus
He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And hears me when I call

What is your favorite name for God? My favorites change from time to time, depending on the exact feeling I have at the time.
Here is a cool web page I found with
the names of God:
Pray~
Thank you Lord, for not forgetting me when I walked
such a far distance from You. And thank you for reeling me back in. Please keep
a tight rein on my heart and remind me often that You know my name and my heart
better than anyone!
Trusting in Him,
Becky
